Quick answer: what the add-on does

• Shows the person you're emailing. Whether they're in your contacts (name, title, company) and your latest gifts to them, with each one's status.
• Send a gift. Opens the send flow in Gia's Giraffes with their name and email already filled in.
• Insert GG Link (while you write). Pick a budget and the add-on creates a GG Link for one claim, made out to that person, and puts it at your cursor. They pick a gift within the budget. You're charged only if they accept.
• Reads only what it needs: the sender and recipients of the email you have open, never its body or any other email.

The add-on is part of Gia's Giraffes Pro ($19.99 per user per month, 14-day free trial). Recipients never see a price.

Install and connect

1. Install Gia's Giraffes from the Google Workspace Marketplace (or, on a Google Workspace account, ask your admin to install it for you).
2. In Gmail, open any email and click the Gia's Giraffes icon in the right-hand side panel.
3. Google asks you to allow the add-on to run in Gmail, read the sender and recipients of the email you have open, add content to drafts, and see your email address. Click Allow.
4. Click Connect Gia's Giraffes. A window opens: sign in if you need to, check that the Gmail address shown is yours, and click Connect.
5. Close the window. The add-on reloads with the person from the open email.

Use it

• Reading an email: the panel shows the sender (or, on an email you sent, the first recipient). Click Send a gift to start a gift to them.
• Writing an email: add the recipient first, then click the Gia's Giraffes icon in the draft's toolbar. Choose a budget and click Insert GG Link. The link is a normal GG Link for one claim: it appears in GG Links in the app, where you can pause or end it.
• A GG Link needs a saved card (you're charged only when a claim is accepted) and counts toward the add-on's spending limits.

Limits and access

Connecting makes a connection called Gmail add-on in Settings → Developers → AI tools, with send access and these default limits: $100 per link, $300 a day, $1,000 a month. Change them there at any time.

Disconnect

• From the add-on: open it with no email selected and click Disconnect.
• From Gia's Giraffes: Settings → Developers → AI tools → Gmail add-on → Revoke.
• To remove the add-on from Gmail: Gmail settings → Add-ons, or your Google Account's third-party connections.

Disconnecting stops the add-on at once. GG Links it created keep working until you end them in GG Links.

What the add-on reads and keeps

• Reads: the From, To and Cc of the email you have open, while it's open, and your Google account's email address. It never reads message bodies, attachments, or any other email, and it can't send email for you.
• Writes: only the GG Link you insert, into the draft you're writing, when you click Insert GG Link.
• Keeps: which Google account is connected to which Gia's Giraffes account. It doesn't store email addresses or headers from your messages.

Troubleshooting

• "This link has expired": Connect links last 10 minutes. Close the window and click Connect Gia's Giraffes again.
• "The Gmail add-on is part of Pro": upgrade or start a trial, then reopen the add-on.
• A saved card is needed first: the message includes a link to add one in Gia's Giraffes. Add it, then insert again.
• Nothing to show in a draft: add a recipient first, then reopen the add-on.
